Release Notes

The Pro Apps Hub is the Apple Professional Video Applications-specific version of the Digital Media Hub software.

It requires OS X 10.3 and 16 MB of disk space for a basic install. This will grow if content is purchased through the Catalog (Optional).

The Pro Apps Hub will replace The Intelligent Assistant software and any packages of content from Intelligent Assistance (KILLER Titles, PRACTICAL Color Correction, Intelligent Assistance for Boris RED, Boris Graffiti or Boris FX) will be updated for compatibility.

New Features:

  • News, Applications pages and indexes to Articles and Tutorials, Resources and Forums, load directly into the Hub Software. Articles and Tutorials, or Resources, can be browsed by Application, Category or Manufacturer.
  • Catalog area allowing purchase, download and integration of small amounts of Tutorial or Training, plug-ins, templates, effects, etc. (Replaces and improves on Assistance on Demand.)
  • Preferences can be set in the Preferences tab once content is available in My Library:
    • The application can be changed from a non-floating to a floating window.
    • Tutorial and Technique content now displays in a choice of 3 display sizes set in Preferences. (Some sprite movie content will only display correctly in small size. KILLER Titles and an updated PRACTICAL Color Correction will display in all sizes).
    • Font size can be selected for text display. Size is set in the Preferences Tab.

Known Issues:

  • When it is set as a floating application, The Hub software cannot display its own dialog boxes because it floats over the top of other applications. Choosing The Hub>About, File>Page Setup or File>Print menu items in The Hub software will not display a dialog, and the software will appear to have frozen.

  • Do not switch to another application during The Hub startup. During the 20-30 seconds it may take for the main window to draw onscreen, changing to Finder or another application may cause the Hub to open in an unstable state, causing an "Unexpected Quit" shortly after startup. Avoid switching to another application during startup. This will be resolved in a future version of the Hub software.

  • All currency is in US $. This is not expected to change.
